Managing Partner, Lia AI

Nima Mohajeri is Managing Partner at Lia AI, an AI platform built for mortgage and lending teams. He founded Lia after spending more than a decade in technology consulting, working on CRM, Salesforce, automation, and applied AI programs for organizations across mortgage, lending, and financial services. Most of that work happened inside operating teams rather than above them, mapping how an inquiry actually becomes a funded loan and where the process quietly breaks.

He also leads SM Innovations, a consulting practice focused on CRM and automation for financial services firms. That work is where the pattern behind Lia became clear. Engagement after engagement, the constraint was rarely strategy or headcount. It was time. Loan officers, processors, and managers were losing hours every day to repetitive communication, manual follow-up, and moving information between systems that did not talk to each other.

Lia was built from that firsthand observation. The product reads what a team already keeps in its CRM and loan origination system, decides what matters most that day, and drafts the message. A person reviews it and sends it. Nothing goes out on its own.

Nima's focus is applying AI to the workflows a business already runs, rather than using AI for novelty. In a regulated industry that means the technology has to be accountable: every recommendation traceable to the data behind it, and every message reviewed by the person whose name is on it. The measure of the product is not how impressive the AI looks in a demo. It is whether a loan officer finishes the day earlier with more of the pipeline moving.

Why Lia

Mortgage and lending teams do not lose deals because they lack effort. They lose them in the gaps: the follow-up that slipped past a busy afternoon, the borrower question that sat unanswered for three days, the file that stalled without anyone noticing. Lia was built to close those gaps by handling the repetitive work that fills a day without moving a loan forward.

Responsiveness is the part borrowers feel. When someone asks a question about their rate, their conditions, or their closing date, the answer should not depend on whether their loan officer happened to be at a desk. Lia watches the pipeline continuously, surfaces what needs attention first, and has a reply drafted and waiting so a real response takes seconds instead of an evening.

The other half is the employee experience. Good originators leave the industry worn down by administrative work, not by lending. Lia is designed so the person keeps the judgment and the relationship, and the software absorbs the drafting, the tracking, and the reminders. Better borrower experience and a better job on the inside are the same problem solved from two directions.
